Champions League Betting

If you want my advice about who to bet on for the Champions League this coming season, then I would suggest either opting for Real Madrid, Barcelona or one of the Premiership’s four representatives. The two Spanish giants are always worth a punt because they possess such quality throughout their squads. Real Madrid have Casillas in goal, undoubtedly one of the best keepers in the world who has bags of Champions League experience as well as having been part of Spain’s World Cup winning squad last summer. They also have Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks who has the pace, skill and finishing to change any game in the blink of an eye.
Barcelona are the defending champions and so are bound to attract a lot of Champions League betting this season, and with players like Messi, Villa, Iniesta and Xavi in their team, it is not really surprising that they will be placed as favourites by most bookmakers for this season’s tournament. If they also manage to capture Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal, as has looked increasingly likely as the summer has gone on and the whirlwind of gossip surrounding Arsenal’s want away captain has intensified, then they will be in an even better position than last year when they won it.
Arsenal have already lost Gael Clichy to Manchester City and if they lost Cesc Fabregas as well then Arsene Wenger could well see his squad start to disintegrate. Nasri could also soon follow, in which case it will be no surprise to see Van Persie start to agitate for a move. Jack Wilshire is going to have a lot more responsibility this season whether Fabregas stays or goes. Nicklas Bentdner has already moved on as well, though he has been replaced by Gervinho, which looks like a good bit of business by Wenger. Still, Arsenal are not going to be getting a football bet from me unless they invest heavily in the remainder of the transfer window.
