Odds On Who Is Going to Win Euro 2012

Even nine months before the tournament begins, it is clear that it is going to be difficult for anyone to challenge Spain for the crown of European champions once again. They won the World Cup two years ago, the European Championships before that and recently went over a year unbeaten. The strength in depth that have in their squad covering every position on the park means that even considering injuries and suspensions, they will always be able to put out a world beating eleven. They also have arguably the three best midfielders pulling the strings in their side, all now from Barcelona since Fabregas’ summer transfer, along with Xavi and Iniesta. Busquets is another Barcelona man that is a mainstay in the national side as well, and there is also Puyol and Pique at centre-back.

In fact, including Villa and Pedro up front, a large majority of the Spain side comes from the Spanish and European champions for the last two seasons – Barcelona. Most of the remainder of the squad comes from their arch rivals Real Madrid, but it says much about the fostering of relations between the Catalan side and its fan base and royal Real Madrid and their respective fans that there is apparent unity in the Spanish national team’s dressing room despite the decades of sectarianism.

So whatever Euro 2012 odds you find on whatever team, I would honestly say that there really isn’t much point putting your money on any side other than Spain. If you are looking for something to bet on that isn’t a one-horse race, I would suggest you take a look at the trends for St Leger betting and spend your money at the racetrack instead. That said, I would still always rather bet on football as it is just such a more entertaining spectacle.
